The Beauty of Thailand is a cultural event and is made by the Hospitality Management students of Western Sydney University. The students (Mr Mithree Almond, Ms Caroline Fotofili, Ms Virginia Phung, Ms Edelyn Samonte, Ms Mickie Sung, Mr Osman Goni and Mr Yuto Tamai) who made this event possible came from different cultures and backgrounds. Of all their differences they chose Thailand because, “Western Sydney University doesn’t really have a focal Thailand community, unlike other universities, and it’s really misunderstood by others and many people don’t really know the cultural means of Thailand” as one of them said.
Beauty of Thailand event is a roadshow event to re-create Thailand by allowing attendees to explore cultural entertainment, showcasing traditional dancing, fruit carving, lucky draw prizes and so forth through a cocktail style night. All the proceeds for this event will be donated to Northcott, a non-for-profit charity organisation that provides programs, services and support to build confidence, skills and independency for children and adult with disabilities.
This event will be held at Parramatta Leagues Club Auditorium, 1 Eels Place, Parramatta NSW 2150 on Friday 9th October 2015, 6.30pm – 9.30pm. The night will be open to everyone, focusing on students and organising businesses. Entertainment, food and drinks which have be sponsored by businesses of the Thai community will also be arranged for the event.
