PUBLIC WARNING DO NOT DEAL WITH SPORTECH AUSTRALIA PTY LTD AND WWW.SPORTECH.COM.AU
NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe is issuing a warning to the public not to deal with Sportech Australia Pty Ltd and http://www.sportech.com.au.
Sportech Australia Pty Ltd, through its website http://www.sportech.com.au, is an online store purporting to offer cheerleading, dance and sports equipment, accessories and clothing.
The website, which Fair Trading is moving to close down, says the company obtains products from a number of US based manufacturers.
Fair Trading has received numerous complaints against this trader alleging it has accepted payment and not supplied goods. There is an alleged consumer detriment exceeding $78,000.
Mr Stowe said there were concerns the conduct of Sportech Australia Pty Ltd had resulted in actual detriment and would cause possible future detriment to NSW consumers.
The public warning is issued in the public interest under section 223 of the Australian Consumer Law.
Fair Trading’s efforts to resolve consumer complaints have not been successful and the trader is currently uncontactable.
“Any consumers who have had dealings with Sportech Australia Pty Ltd or http://www.sportech.com.au and have had issues with no supply of products or refunds should contact NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20,” Mr Stowe said.
